The longer version

Grew up between New York and New Jersey. The kind of kid who took apart everything in the house to see how it worked — my mom still hasn't forgiven me for the kitchen timer.

I fell in love with tea the way most people fall in love with coffee — slowly, then all at once. Now I travel partly to find new teas, partly to sit in old buildings, and partly because I just like being somewhere I've never been.

I believe in asking too many questions, staying too long in places, and being genuinely interested in people. Most of my best days started with no plan at all.

When I'm home, I make things. Mostly software. Sometimes art.
